Decothane roof & cladding

K Kershaw Roofing installed Decothane liquid roof membrane onto concrete deck of a data centre containing £2m worth of computer equipment in Manchester.

The advanced polyurethane roof coating was the ideal product for the inverted roof type and premises use, being cold applied, seamless, highly durable and guaranteed.

Installation

• The flat concrete roof of the purpose built unit was made clean of dirt and debris to ensure a smooth surface finish and high durability
• A quick drying primer was applied to make the surface ready and reduce the incidence of pin-holing
• Once dry (24 hours) the base layer was installed. this incorporated a deco reemat a fibreglass / glass fibre matting
• Once the base and matting had cured we thoroughly inspected the deck for voids, pin-holes or protruding strands of reemat
• Once assured the surface was smooth and clean the entire roof was sectioned off and the Decothane top coat was applied sectionally
• The top coat, when applied in the correct quantities and densities seamlessly encases the roof
• Once set the data centre's roof had guaranteed waterproof protection, and high durability for foot traffic, solar UV radiation

Cold Applied

Cold applied products had the advantage over hot applied where no risk of combustion is required. This installation was over a high value data centre. Other uses can be over storage warehouses and domestic house roofs, dormers and garages.

Guaranteed

The Decothene manufacturers provide product guarantees based on the materials used and the system of application selected. Generally the more top layers the longer the certified guarantee. We also provide our own guarantee for the quality of our work.

Seamless

Decothane built up liquid plastic (high performance polyurethane) roof coating completely sealed around upstands, abutments, drainage channels, waste pipes.

The advanced products provide a seamless, durable roof protection system.
