More about our: Public sector slate roofing Reclaimed Welsh Slate RoofsReclaimed Welsh slates were chosen for their long life, aesthetic qualities and a relatively cheap price when compared to new slates. This resulted in significant cost savings on the materials without affecting the lifespan of any of the roofs. The replacement slates match the look and feel of existing properties and blended with original slates stripped off the roof and replaced so they matched according to colour, thickness, dimensions, flatness, grade and edge characteristics. Our professional slate laying techniques ensure slates remain in alignment, are correctly fixed on positioned battens and have sufficient overlap and prevent water ingress. Slates are 'half lapped' (sit halfway across each other) Blue Collared Slate RidgesThe pictures of the roof ridges illustrate the fully bedded and skimmed, blue collared slate ridge. Interlocking slate collars prevent water ingress and leaks into the roof along the roofline. The ridge slates are bedded in cement along the apex / roofline to ensure a long life span and secure fixture Lead ValleysThe dual pitch roofs run into lead valley and run-off is channeled into newly replaced gutters. Lead valleys comprise lead sections no longer than 1.5 metres to allow for thermal movement by solar heating without loosening or splitting of the metal. Copper nails fix the lead thus avoiding corrosion and chemical reaction. Each lead section is nailed at the top and every subsequent section overlaps it by 150mm to prevent water ingress KK-Roofing Install New and Reclaimed Slate Roofs in the Following AreasGreater Manchester, West Yorkshire, Lancashire, Cheshire, Derbyshire, North Wales and Merseyside Accrington | Alderley Edge | Birkenhead | Blackburn | Blackpool | Bolton | Burnley | Bury | Buxton | Chadderton | Cheadle | Chester | Chorley | Chorlton | Colne and Nelson | Colwyn Bay | Derby | Glossop | Harrogate | Hebden Bridge | Heywood | Huddersfield | Keighley | Knutsford | Lancaster | Liverpool | Macclesfield | Mossley | Oldham | Preston | Ramsbottom | Rhyl | Rochdale | Rossendale | Sale | Salford | Sheffield | Southport | Stockport | Stoke on Trent | Swinton | Timperley | Wakefield | Warrington | Wilmslow | Wigan | Worsley Call our experts on: 0800 1950 350 and discuss your slate roof problems and requirements.
