Slate Roof Refurbishment

A refurbishment is an overhaul of your existing slate roof system. We conduct a slate roof survey and report in detail on the problems and the remedies required. A partial refurbishment includes:

Full Refurbishment

• all the roof slates and ridge tiles to be carefully stripped from the roof
• slates being lowered to the ground and stacked according to size, thickness and shape
• structural roof repairs to be undertaken
• position breathable felt membrane to structure
• mechanically fix new wooden timber battons
• the existing roof slates are loaded back onto the scaffold
• from the eave-line slates are fixed securely to the wooden batons
• new or reclaimed slates are added to make up the area of slate required
• stepped, chimney flashings and aprons installed
• renew guttering and downpipes if necessary
• ridge tiles fixed
• cement verges fixed
